In early October, between snowstorms, we took a break from unpacking and took a stroll along the River Walk. It really is a beautiful area. Especially here in Wyoming where so much of the landscape is dry and desolate. Unfortunately we missed the full effect of the autumn leaves by about two weeks; but it was still a stunning fall day. The temperature was warm, but cool enough to make walking pleasant. The sky so blue, even much bluer than the pictures can show. Autumn is my most beloved season, it is too bad that it is so short here.

Elisabeth insisted on pushing Samuel, even when the pathway turned to gravel, and her little legs could barely push through it. She has a very determined personality, and does not give up easily.

I wish this picture could do better justice to the sparkling river, and the bright leaves.

We had such a wonderful day. Even though most of us ended up sunburned after hours in the bright, low sun.

I love contrast. Dark against light. Stark against lush.
